Aisle Style

Far too often, brides and grooms just want to get the wedding part over with and get to the reception. I think brides and grooms feel a stronger connection with the reception because it's personalized by them. They made the choices' their colours, their favourite drinks, favourite songs, and their best friends & family. But there are plenty of ways to make the ceremony about you and create that magical once in a lifetime moment when you commit yourselves to one another.

For starters, go ahead and use modern songs. No one said you have to use the wedding march or pachabel's canon just because everyone else did. Walk down the aisle to an acoustic version of Green Day or Metallica even! Perhaps, your recessional song could be something upbeat & you can dance your way out!

The ceremony décor is often overlooked as well. You've all heard it before - there's no point in doing anything in that church - well I say there is! Having lush arrangements & unique aisle markers make for better photos every time not to mention one of the key factors to creating that feeling of that magical moment you dreamed of as a little girl! Imagine that picture of your first kiss, framed by beautiful blooms, sticks with hanging crystals, or perhaps even a chandelier floating overhead.

Ceremony Décor doesn't always mean more expense either. Get creative and find ways to double dip. I love to use the table centerpieces as aisle markers in the church. Those large arrangements at the front (and even back) of the aisle can become the head table, parents table or signature cocktail table pieces!

Don't make the mistake of overlooking the details for a magical ceremony. You can make it it happen if you put a few details together. After all, isn't that what this day is all about?
