Amy!

Amy's mom contacted us a while back about grad photos saying she "didn't want typical". Amy was a bright, intelligent and fun person to work with - not to mention a natural in front of the camera!

Featured in Weddingbells

We were very excited when Weddingbells Magazine asked us to participate in their 'real weddings' section. A special thank-you to Janny and Arthur for sharing their images and their story. When asked to sum-up the day in three words, Janny & Arthur replied: Magical. Intimate. Unforgettable. I couldn't agree more.

Calling All Photographers

The wonderful folks at the Canadian Cancer Society here in Nova Scotia have asked me to pass along an invite to share your cancer related images. Here are more details - be sure and check out the Photosensitive Website.
Here is the image that I plan on submitting. Debbie and James were married on June 19, 2006. Their's has to be one of the most special weddings I have ever photographed. Even though everyone knew that Debbie had breast cancer, I can't remember a wedding with more smiles, happiness and joy. As you can see in this image, no one was happier than Debbie.

When I get bogged down with a never ending to-do list or an full inbox - thinking of Debbie & James' wedding reminds me why I love to photograph weddings. It also reminds me of why "today" is so important.

Sadly, Debbie lost her battle with breast cancer in October 2007. Her courage and positive outlook will always remain an inspiration to me.

Relay for Life

Last night I had the privilege of photographing the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Halifax. It was a powerful experience. One thing that really struck me was the number of luminaries. The luminaries are lit to honour a cancer survivor or someone who has lost their battle with cancer. This disease effects so many lives.

It was also announced that the Dream Team that I had the pleasure of photographing a couple of months ago exceeded their goal of raising over $100,000!

Dream Team

On a recent shoot, I met some amazing business and community leaders here in Halifax who are coming together with a lofty goal in mind. They're aiming to raise $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society in Nova Scotia in the annual Relay For Life. Not only are they hoping to raise a lot of money, they want to be the number one team in the country!

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight non-competitive relay that celebrates cancer survivors and pays tribute to loved ones. It's a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer.

CTV Atlantic 3 of 3

The last in our series of CTV Atlantic personalities, are Live at 5 co-hosts, Starr Dobson and Bruce Frisko. Live at 5 happens to be Sophia's favorite program. While I'm sure that she really likes Bruce and Star, it also may have something to do with the show being on while her dinner is being made :)

CTV Atlantic 2 of 3

More images from our fall, CTV personalities shoot. Here is Paul Hollingsworth who was so great to work with as these images probably suggest. Like his colleagues, very comfortable and at ease in front of the camera - making my job easy!
As we moved around downtown with Steve Murphy, it was amazing to watch how he interacted with people. People who recognized him greeted him like an old friend. Then there were the tourists that he greeted with a warm smile and questions about how they were getting along in Nova Scotia.
